Today, I met an apparition.

In my short existence, I have never laid eyes on something this extraordinary. When I say “apparition”, I truly mean it. In the darkness of my own home, my heart ramming against my chest cavity, stood a powerful looking creature. Their very essence feathered in and out of reality as if they time-traveled through a glitchy matrix. Their holographic features shuddered and shook, merely looking like static from the television. No wind was present inside my sanctuary but their wild hair danced all around. There were multi-colored wires that littered the top of their head. They reminded me of snakes. Above the full mane were two sharp pointed ears, similar to those of a cat or a fox. Their face, or what I could have assumed was their face, had nothing but codes and broken electronic static.

I tried to make a noise. A scream. A gasp. Anything to prove to the creature that I was real, that I was a life form that didn’t want any trouble or to cause harm. The air was still in my lungs. The blood pumped furiously in my ears that I had a difficult time understanding what was reality and what my brain was making up.
The creature advanced towards me, their black dipped claws extended. They spoke to me. I could not understand. Our languages were not the same. A sudden burst of neon green liquid exploded from their sides and down they fell to the ground. The shadowy effects that cloaked their body stilled and from what I would've guessed, they became a solid matter. A solid matter that was bleeding profusely on my floor.

Today, I met an apparition.
